A common notion is that H. G. Wells and Jules Verne were the originators of steampunk.
Not exactly true, but their works did provide the elements of the steampunk fashion genre, which began sometime in the early 2000’s ( correct me if Iam wrong).Wells, Verne, Shelly and others are important sources of inspiration for steampunk, but they are not steampunk authors themselves.
There are books that go back as far as 1979.I have included a brief list, but will add more soon, Read More
